Best. Cover. Ever. | Youtube Series | Switching Styles | Cover Competition

There’s a new musical competition in town. And this one revolves around covers called Best.Cover.Ever. Exciting, right?

The Best.Cover.Ever. is the new hit competition hosted by Ludacris. Ultimately, Shows like this are a really good way to not only find the next top talent but to showcase the musical talent that’s out there. Interestingly, it premieres exclusively on YouTube, as one of the first ad-supported originals on the site. This is rather cool as YouTube has been a launching pad for new talent. There are countless artists that started their music career because of YouTube including Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, Pentatonix, and Soulja Boy. Beyond that YouTube has thousands of cover artists on YouTube. Best.Cover.Ever may be just the break they’re looking for.

Within this series, produced by Ryan Seacrest provides a platform for new and upcoming artists. In a press release, Seacrest says “These new young artists will also have the chance to work alongside some of the most renowned musicians in the world, which we hope will generate some great experiences for the artists and contestants alike, and in turn produce some memorable performances.”

Competition Overview

The way the competition works is that you submit a video of you singing a cover of your choice of provided songs. There’s a range of artists including Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Backstreet Boys, Charlie Puth, Flo Rida, and Jason Derulo. The submissions for those artists are already closed, however, the submission deadline for Keith Urban, Nicky Jam, and Bebe Rexha isn’t for another few days on August 18th. Each of the artists will choose two finalists that will appear in the series. Those finalists will compete for the prize of performing a duet with their chosen artist. The launch date has yet to be announced but more musicians are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
