Remixes to Help you Write in NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo

Look, I of all people know how hard it is to put words down on paper. To overcome the dread of the blank page, and the fear of writing something that isn’t perfect. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be good.

It just has to exist so you can make it better.

V. E. Schwab‘s Pep Talk for NaNoWriMo

Introduction to NaNoWriMo

November is National Novel Writing Month. This is a month to celebrate the novels that have been written, are being written and eventually will be written.

Introducing NaNoWriMo. This is a non-profit organization that aims on supporting novelists and their novels. There is one simple goal when you join; write 50,000 words in one month.

In 2019, NaNoWriMo was responsible for

  • 455,080 writers participating in our programs, including 104,350 students and educators in the Young Writers Program.
  • 966 volunteer Municipal Liaisons that guided 669 regions on six continents.
  • 968 libraries, bookstores, and community centers that opened their doors to novelists through the Come Write In program.
  • 70,632 Campers that tackled a writing project—novel or not—at Camp NaNoWriMo.

Each year, countless novels are published. These hundreds of novels include Sara Gruen’s Water for Elephants, Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl, Jason Hough’s The Darwin Elevator, and Marissa Meyer’s Cinder.

Every author needs something to listen to while they design an entire world for us to get lost in. Here are some chill remixes to help with the creative juices.
